Date Night

I am not a spontaneous person. I like the idea of spontaneity, but I like it planned. I know that doesn't make sense. Friday, my wonderful brother- in- law, Jesse, and his girlfriend Rachel took my kids at about 1pm. I took little Flora to the grocery, and got a big chunk of my shopping done. I still didn't have my own children, so I was looking forward to a relatively peaceful afternoon, until the little people came home.

Since Zach isn't tied down to regular hours, he asked if I wanted to go to the Indy Gun & Knife Show with him. I have been many times, and it's not an awful experience, so I said yes. We conned Jesse & Rachel into keeping the kids longer, and even putting them to bed!

We walked around the show, and Zach made a few purchases and I just enjoyed being a grown up. At one point, I went & bought a drink ($4.50 - WAAAAAAYYYYY too expensive)and wandered around by myself. It was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. No little people, and the chances of running into somebody I knew were incredibly small. Then we got some dinner and went home, with the kids already on bed!

It was a wonderful evening and I am actually looking forward to the next show, because I want to go again! And try some different kinds of jerky!

Haha- gotta love the gun and knife show! we went when I was a week past due with Ari, just trying to walk him out. I think the workers there thought I was crazy and was nervous I would have the baby there! Sounds like a great date to me :)

You probably saw my uncle there and didn't know it. He sells knives at every gun show in the tri-state area. Ryan likes to go too. What a date night, but I think any night you are alone with your husband and without your kids is a great night. And I have been several times and I do enjoy the concession stand.

depending on the type of drink you bought...you got a steal! if that was an adult beverage, $4.50 is nothing. Here, mind you things here are ridiculously overpriced, it would be more like $10-$15 for a good adult drink, excluding beer...at times. haha

Yeah, traditionally, one doesn't mix alcohol and guns... bad combo. I got a pepsi, so I wasn't thrilled with that, being a coke person. But it was a good size. The jerky was awesome, though, and only $5 for the bag! I know you're jealous!
