NOLA

A few weeks ago the kids and I, along with my mom, traveled down to Louisiana. We left about noon on Tuesday and got her house about 1am. It was a fairly uneventful trip. However, we had been in the car for about an hour and a half when Tristin announced he wanted to go home. This went on periodically the whole 12hrs down.

During the 2 and half days at my aunt's we visited a peach orchard, swam, visited with friends, shopped at a local store (and bought some fun stuff!), ate AMAZING food an just enjoyed each others company. We also got to listen to Tristin say he was ready to go to the reunion (the 2nd part of our trip). As we pulled away from her house, not even off of her street, Tristin announced that he wanted to go back.

We have been adopted into a friend's family, and they have reunions every 2 years. Every other meeting is in New Orleans, since this is where the matriarch resides.

It was great mixing with another family, and enjoying them as our own. The kids had a blast and I was able to relax and have some more grown up conversations. It was magical.

After the reunion we went to the French Quarter with our close friends. It was very entertaining. I had been a long time ago, but it was fun to go back. I wish we had more time to sit and listen to the music & just people watch. And there were some pretty interesting people to watch...

A man in gold paint, from head to toe was walking to towards us at one point, then started to slow down & froze. This caught Tristin's attention, so he watched him as we walked past. Well, Mr. Gold noticed this, looked at Tristin, and watched him as we passed, only turning his head.

Tristin thought for a moment and then asked, 'Mommy, why do statues sometimes move?'
