Cake

My brother-in-law got married this Saturday. It was an incredibly small wedding. Including the bride & groom, there was a total of 29 people.

Upon hearing this projected number, I opened up my fat mouth a few months ago and offered to do the cake. I am so dumb.

I was more than happy to do it for them, and I am glad I was able to help out. However, it was a bigger job than anticipated. Since it was such a small gathering, a pretty cake for display wouldn't have been much to look at. We decided to do a fake cake, that could also be used at a later, larger reception in a few weeks, then just make a sheet cake to serve.

Here is the practice set-up the day before. Once at the wedding, there was a real tier of cake (for them to cut) between the top two tiers.
