Take a Whiff....

I started thinking yesterday. My kids have these funny little belly buttons, and they are neither innies nor outies, and they have this tiny little fold of skin inside, and sometimes it needs cleaning. Anyway, I was checking to see if Tristin needed a belly button gunk-ectomy, and that's where this thought began. I was just kind of amazed (as I always am) at the things moms do. We will pick at the dried snot and such on their noses and face, and not think twice. Forget that some of us will go so far as to clean out their noses - things that have not come out of their own accord. Picking at little toes to get out the nastiness. And least of all, the dirty diaper. I don't know how many times I have actually picked up the child and out my nose very close to the diaper, just to see if it stinks. Usually I can tell if my kids need a change, by just looking at them. Seriously, the stink is that great, I can just tell that it's there with my eyes! In any event, why not not just gently pull the diaper out and visually check for the offedning substance? Well, if you have ever done that, then you have probably inadvertantly stuck your finger in it. That, my friends, is why I'm a smell checker. since I know this grotesqueness has gone on far too long, I will end this post. Just remember, there are far more mom-y things that we do, or our mom's did, that would completely horrify a childless person... or a man.

LOL! This reminds me of that scene in the movie, Baby Mama where the sister sees something brown on her child’s arm and says," is this poop, or chocolate?" and then she licks it and says, " Its chocolate!" Her sister looks at her and says, "what if it had been poop!?!?!?" hahaha. Moms do nasty things! I say if your not willing to pick someone else’s nose, your not ready to be a mom!
